GNGTS 2014 S essione 2.2 245 - amplitude values of HVSR peaks in the low frequency range (0.25 – 0.3 Hz) can be significantly affected by sea-waves activities: this makes it an ambiguous index of the actual impedance contrast in the subsoil; - in order to provide an unbiased estimate of the depth of the resonance layer, Eq. (4) (arithmetic weighted average) allows a better valuation of the S V ( h ) profile than the Eq. (3), commonly used to estimate the average S-wave velocity in the first 30 meters (Vs 30 ) for engineering purposes (NTC 2008).
