40 GNGTS 2014 S essione 1.1 A complex fault zone, about 4 meters wide, which is characterized by both synthetic and antithetic splays, has been defined in the trench walls. In the eastern wall, we have identified at least two fault-related colluvial wedges, matching units 4 and 10 in the trench-log reported in Fig. 3B. Here a brown colluvium (unit 3 in Fig. 3B, where sample SD 61 was taken) is clearly involved in the deformation, together with the bottom of the overlaying gravelly layer (unit 2 in Fig. 3B).
