University of Twente, Holland 3 Department of Geosciences, University of Padova, Italy The Sardinia-Corsica continental block holds petrological signatures of several tectonic processes, but its role in the complex dynamics occurring in the Central Mediterranean is not yet fully understood (e.g. Oggiano et al., 2009). In fact, although the central-western Mediterranean has been extensively studied for many decades, (e.g. Panza et al., 2007; Jolivet et al., 2009; Lustrino et al., 2011; Carminati et al., 2012; Faccenna et al., 2014), the scarcity of seismic stations on the Sardinian territory has until now hindered the acquisition of seismic images of the study area at lithospheric scale.
