421 GNGTS 2021 S essione 3.2 profiling of the slope linked to the construction of the building. These soils, with poor geotechnical characteristics, can cause settlements and deformation of the walls of the building. In conclusion , the joint of geophysical survey with geotechnical tests allow not only to define the geological model of the subsoil but also suggests that the primary cause of the lesions produced is to be found in the differential subsidence due to the textural variability of the subsoil both in the horizontal and vertical direction, passing from sandy silts to silty clays, with a different response to compressibility. Such failures, as evidenced by the oedometric tests, may not fall within the limits that protect the building from damage. Following the investigations carried out and above described, an engineering project for the consolidation of the building with the creation of under-walling on piling was designed. 6.
