Session 1.1 GNGTS 2023 The CLASS input dataset of P and S-wave arrival times and magnitude association strategy The CLASS dataset covers a period of about 40 years. During this period the Italian network of seismic stations belonging to the Rete Sismica Nazionale of the INGV and other permanent institutions, seismic observatories, University departments was very heterogeneous as shown in Fig. 1. Fig. 1 a) Distribution of the seismic stations operating in Italy from 1981 to 2018, whose records are used to build the dataset of P and S integrated phases (CSI 2.0 catalog, 1981-2008) and the dataset of phases from the Bollettino Sismico Italiano (2009-2018), Blue symbols represent the stations of the INGV while red symbols are the stations managed by other permanent networks; b) number of stations/year used in the CLASS catalog For the period 1981-2008, the CLASS dataset of P and S wave arrival times includes the CSI 2.0 phase integrated dataset (https://ingv.github.io/class/phases/) , which is an extension of the CSI1.0 catalog. For the period 2009-2018, the CLASS dataset includes the Italian Seismic Bulletin phase dataset of the INGV ( http://terremoti.ingv.it/en/bsi) . The final dataset consists of more than 420,000 events with ~5.0 million P and ~3.5 million S wave first arrival times. Magnitudes in CLASS
