GNGTS 2023 - Atti del 41° Convegno Nazionale

Session 1.3 - POSTER GNGTS 2023 Processing of two decades of GNSS data on CINECA clusters L. Tunini, A. Magrin, D. Zuliani, G. Rossi National Institute of Oceanography and Applied Geophysics - OGS North-East Italy represents the northernmost sector of the Adria microplate converging with the Eurasia plate, with significant consequences on the surface deformation, as revealed by the regional seismicity and tectonics. The Friuli Venezia Giulia Deformation Network (FReDNet) is a GNSS network established starting from 2002 by the Centro Ricerche Sismologiche of the National Institute of Oceanography and Applied Geophysics - OGS in order to monitor the crustal deformation in this region and to provide a valid contribution to the monitoring system “Sistema di Monitoraggio terrestre dell’Italia Nord Orientale (SMINO)” of NE-Italy (Bragato et al., 2021). The 20 permanent stations of FReDNet are scattered throughout the study region, covering the Eastern Alps peaks, the alluvial plain and the coastal areas homogeneously . In order to place the regional deformation in a broader tectonic context, data from FReDNet are processed together with those coming from other geodetic networks covering northern Italy and surrounding areas for the period 2002-2022. We used the GAMIT/GLOBK software ver10.71 (Herring et al., 2018) to calculate the position and velocity for each station, taking advantage of the high-performance computing resources of CINECA clusters, which allowed us to elaborate in a short time decades of data logged by hundreds of stations. In this work, the processing strategies and data analyses of the GNSS time-series of NE-Italy stations are shown, as well as the outcoming deformation field. The preliminary results confirm the decrease in the velocity module from the Friuli plain toward the Alps, suggesting a possible deformation accrual in the latter. This research was supported by OGS and CINECA under HPC-TRES program award number 2020-11. In addition, we acknowledge the CINECA award under the ISCRA initiative, for the availability of high performance computing resources and support (IscraC IsC96_GPSIT-2). References Bragato, P.
