It was a list containing in a nutshell the questions that are developed in future questionnaires. We do not know how many letters Scarabelli and Tassinari sent, yet more than thirty responses have been preserved, written from an area ranging from Pavia to Senigallia. They did not publish the results of their data collection and we do not know what use they made of it. However, thanks to their data it was possible to reconstruct the macroseismic scenario of that earthquake (Caracciolo, 2020). This documentation is extraordinarily important for the history of Italian macroseismics because it perhaps represents the first investigation of the effects of an earthquake carried out through a list of questions with scientific purposes.
