Session 2.2 GNGTS 2023 Figure 1. SPOKES organization and interaction with physical, functional and social systems Figure 1, exemplifying the overall RETURN structure, highlights a multi and trans-disciplinary vision, favouring a continuous interaction between the different thematic areas of the 8 spokes, to support adaptation, mitigation, and disaster risk management. The RETURN activities will be steered by Steering Committee led by the Department of Civil Protection DPC. Moreover, an Impact Maximization Stakeholders Group (IMSG) will have a consultation role in the project. The IMSG is composed by relevant HUB members, including DPC and private HUB members and additional members including Regions, Metropolitan Areas (ANCI), Municipalities, Volunteer Associations, large private companies, SMEs, Universities and research centers etc. Some of the mentioned entities among which ANCI, some Metropolitan Areas and Regions, already expressed their support to the initiative by signing an endorsement letter. The involvement of IMSG in meetings, round-tables, testing, needs assessment, will ensure that the RETURN results will fit a framework aligned with future exploitation needs while maximizing the project impact on the territory. The RETURN extended partnership, embracing the inputs from the (IMSG), proactively contributes to the activities of the National Civil Protection Service with the aim to enhance risk prevention, reduction and management. The complexity of the geological setting of the Italian peninsula implies variable site effects which affect seismic hazard. Their extensive mapping is needed for a reliable assessment of the induced risk on infrastructures, strategic sites, industrial agglomerations, and cultural heritage spread on
