Session 1.1 GNGTS 2024 Recalibraton of the intensity predicton equaton in Italy using the Macroseismic Dataset DBMI15 V2.0 B. Lolli 1 , P. Gasperini 2,1 , G. Vannucci 2 1 Isttuto Nazionale di Geofsica e Vulcanologia, Sezione di Bologna 2 Dipartmento di Fisica e Astronomia, Università di Bologna We re-compute the coefcients of the intensity predicton equaton (IPE) in Italy using the data of the DBMI15 V2.0 intensity database and the instrumental and combined (instrumental plus macroseismic) magnitudes reported by the CPTI15 V2.0 catalog. We follow the same procedure described in a previous artcle, consistng of a frst step in which the atenuaton of intensity I with respect to the distance D from macroseismic hypocenter is referred to the expected intensity at the epicenter I E and a second step in which I E is related to the instrumental magnitude M i , the combined magnitude M c , the epicentral intensity I 0 and the maximum intensity I max , using error-in- variable (EIV) regression methods. The main methodological diference with respect to the original artcle concerns the estmaton of the uncertainty of I E to be used for EIV regressions, which is empirically derived from the standard deviaton of regression between I E and M i and also used for the regressions of I E with M c , I 0 and I max . In summary, the new IPE determined from DBMI15 V2.0 is where , h =4.49 km and I E can be calculated from the intensity data distributon of the earthquake. If the intensity data distributon is not available, I E can be calculated from the following relatonships * Corresponding author: barbara.lolli@ingv.it I = I E − 0.0081 ( D − h ) − 1.072 [ ln ( D ) − ln ( h ) ] D = R 2 + h 2 I E = − 2.578 + 1.867 M w I E = I 0
