Tatar 5 1 Emergeo Working Group, Isttuto Nazionale di Geofsica e Vulcanologia (INGV), Italy 2 Isttuto Superiore per la Protezione e la Ricerca Ambientale (ISPRA), Roma, Italy 3 Isttuto Nazionale di Oceanografa e di Geofsica Sperimentale (INOGS), Sgonico (TS), Italy 4 Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), Gaziantep, Turkey 5 Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), General Director of Earthquake and Risk Reducton, Ankara, Turkey Introducton Following the devastatng M w 7.8-7.6 earthquakes occurred on 6 February 2023 along the East Anatolian Fault (Fig. 1a), the Italian Civil Protecton Department (DPC), in coordinaton with the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), set up a team of earthquake geologists belonging to its Competence Centres (INGV – Isttuto Nazionale di Geofsica e Vulcanologia; ISPRA - Isttuto Superiore per la Protezione e la Ricerca Ambientale; INOGS – Isttuto Nazionale di Oceanografa e di Geofsica Sperimentale) to survey the coseismic surface faultng efects. In the period 6-13 May, the Italian team investgated six key-areas along the 140 km-long Nurdagi-Kahramanmaraş-Pazarcık fault secton (Fig. 1) in the provinces of Gaziantep, Kahramanmaraş and Adıyaman.
