GNGTS 2024 - Atti del 42° Convegno Nazionale
Session 1.2 GNGTS 2024 Mc=1.5 to Mc=0.5-0.2. Our analysis shows how this dramatc change is produced by the improvement of the seismic network monitoring the volcano and by the increased sensitvity of the network. The annual rate of located events, in the order of hundreds per year in 1999/2000, dropped down to less than 100 events/year during the period 2001-2014. Since 2015, almost 1000 events/year have been recorded and located. The GR analysis shows similar result with respect to the BKE catalogue, suggestng the presence of at least two populatons of earthquakes also in the catalogue of located events. The frst populaton is associated with earthquakes located within the cone of the volcano, above the sea level, whereas earthquakes belonging to the second class are located at greater depths well below the edifce.
