Session 1.3 GNGTS 2024 Preliminary single-staton template matching seismic catalogue for the area of Everest (Himalaya) R Percacci 1 , A Vuan 2 , G Verza 3 , M P Plasencia 2 , D Sandron 2 , F Petenat 2 1 Università degli studi di Trieste 2 Isttuto di Oceanografa e di Geofsica Sperimentale, OGS, Trieste 3 EvK2cnr, Bergamo From May 2014 to May 2023, we conducted a seismic monitoring project of the broadband staton (IO.EVN), installed at the EvK2 Pyramid Laboratory/Observatory (Petenat et al. 2014). The IO.EVN staton, operated by OGS in the Everest region (Nepal) at an alttude of 5000 m above sea level. We applied the matched-flter method (Gibbons & Ringdal 2006; Vuan et al., 2018) to detect and locate seismic events within a 30 km radius from the staton, using a catalogue of ~ 450 templates that we selected by a recursive STA/LTA trigger method based on a bandpass flter from 1 to 30 Hz and the coincidence of three channels. Single-staton template matching is evaluated and improved by coupling the mutual informaton score and the cross-correlaton values. We are currently analysing a rich catalogue of more than ~40000 events to distnguish between earthquakes, icequakes and rockfalls, and to identfy any noise sources or artfacts related to the staton operaton or the surrounding environment.
