Session 1.1 GNGTS 2024 Fig 1. Input source for unilateral (A,B) and bilateral (D,E) scenarios. The star represents the hypocenter, the dot represents the centroid locaton, and the arrow indicates the rupture directon. Panels (C,F) show the ASTFs calculated from the respectve models for three diferent azimuth directons. To investgate how the uncertaintes introduced by the input data may afect the solutons of the resolved second seismic moments, we used the bootstrap approach. In this technique, perturbatons are introduced for each input parameter to be analyzed by generatng 1000 variatons around the mean value. An inversion is then performed to assess the impact on the mean and standard deviaton of the resultng data. The workfow is summarized in Fig. 2. We investgated the uncertaintes associated with the ASTF, the locaton of the hypocenter, the staton distributons around the source, the focal mechanism, and the velocity model used for ray tracing. Some of these tests are interrelated. For example, the uncertaintes in the positon of the hypocenter and the velocity model afect the calculated ray path, and both the diferent focal mechanism and staton coverage afect the resoluton of the fault plane. The uncertaintes in the epicenter estmates were not investgated because they have negligible efects on the slowness vectors in the inversion of the second moments. Results of the synthetc tests
