GNGTS 2024 - Atti del 42° Convegno Nazionale
Session 3.2 GNGTS 2024 example showed the reliability of the proposed algorithm for improving accuracy in model reconstructon in comparison to individual inversions. Then, the applicaton to a feld case study (investgaton of the lateral abutment of a concrete dam) revealed the beneft of such an algorithm in a complex hydrogeological scenario, where the jointly inverted models are in beter agreement with boreholes informaton, compared to individual inversions. The improvement provided by the coupled procedure with respect to single inversions is also strengthened by the lower root-mean- square errors and NCG values especially in the low-sensitvity deep zones and close to the interfaces between diferent layers. Finally, the fuzzy c-means analysis can allow for a fnal quanttatve interpretaton which resembles the efectve layering of the case study, giving also an assessment of the reliability of the reconstructon by means of the membership values. Therefore, the proposed approach can be efectve in improving the geophysical reconstructon for complex cases, where resistvity and P-wave velocites are expected to have sharp lateral and vertcal changes.
