AGLC Award 2024

Coloro che vogliono partecipare al premio dovranno (come descritto nel bando):

• entro il termine ultimo di sottomissione dei riassunti/abstracts al GNGTS:
• sottomettere sul sito il riassunto/abstract secondo le modalità descritte nel sito GNGTS;
• inviare una mail a grossi@ogs.it, costa@units.it, gferrante@ogs.it;
  indicando:
  – Nome del candidato
  – Titolo del lavoro e co-autori eventuali
  – Sessione a cui lo si è sottomesso
• Entro il 15 gennaio 2024: inviare a grossi@ogs.it, costa@units.it, gferrante@ogs.it:
• 5 slides (oltre a quella del titolo) che illustrino in maniera chiara la ricerca fatta, corredate da brevi note esplicative per ciascuna slide, così da agevolarne la comprensione. (Attenzione a non superare i 10 Mb per mail);
• Una dichiarazione nella quale si specifichi la o le parti che costituiscono il proprio contributo originale al lavoro nel suo complesso, anche per quanto riguarda la redazione del testo e presentazione, nel caso questi siano a più nomi;
• Una autocertificazione riguardante il non aver superato i 35 anni al momento dell’iscrizione al premio (come da bando);
• Fotocopia della carta di identità o documento analogo.

La commissione giudicherà il materiale proposto ma il giudizio finale avverrà dopo che i candidati avranno presentato oralmente il lavoro nel Workshop dei giovani ricercatori AGLC, che, per via telematica precede il Convegno. La presentazione in questo caso è sempre orale (anche nel caso sia stato passato successivamente a poster) e segue le modalità del convegno stesso.

Le tre tematiche sono le stesse previste per il GNGTS (Seismicity, volcanoes, data and models; Disaster risk analysis and reduction, Applied geophysics for energy, environment and new technologies), e le sessioni saranno presiedute da alcuni tra quanti in questi 20 anni hanno ricevuto uno dei premi AGLC. Tutti i candidati sono invitati altresì ad inserire il logo dell’associazione e l’indicazione che partecipano al premio nelle loro presentazioni.
Nel corso del Convegno GNGTS 2024, durante l’assemblea dei ricercatori (mercoledì 14 febbraio 2024), verrà effettuata la premiazione dei tre vincitori.

Dal 2015 concorre per un terzo all’elargizione dei premi anche la Sezione Italiana EAGE-SEG  e dal 2021 sempre per un terzo la UGI – Unione Geofisica Italiana.

Premio AGLC ‘Licio Cernobori’ : regolamento

Art. 1 Il premio dell’Associazione per la Geofisica ‘Licio Cernobori’ – AGLC vuole ricordare la figura di Licio Cernobori, geofisico prematuramente scomparso, che ha spaziato dalla sismologia alla sismica, mantenendo sempre intatto il suo entusiasmo per la ricerca, e contagiando i colleghi più giovani di lui.

Art. 2 Il premio è assegnato ad un giovane che partecipi in prima persona con un lavoro (orale) al Convegno annuale del GNGTS e relativo Workshop dei giovani ricercatori – AGLC.

Art. 3 I requisiti sono i seguenti:

• avere un’età non superiore ai 35 anni alla data di invio del riassunto della relazione;
• essere primo autore e relatore del lavoro scientifico presentato;
• l’argomento deve essere inerente ai temi del Convegno;
• l’abstract dev’essere nel formato richiesto dal Convegno.

Art. 4 saranno assegnati tre premi di 700,00 Euro ciascuno, uno per ciascuno dei Temi del convegno:

• Seismicity, volcanoes, data and models;
• Disaster risk analysis and reduction;
• Applied geophysics for energy, environment and new technologies.

Art. 5 Coloro che sono interessati a partecipare al Concorso devono sottomettere sul sito  l’abstract secondo le modalità descritte nel sito GNGTS entro il termine ultimo di sottomissione e inviare una mail a grossi@ogs.it, costa@units.it, gferrante@ogs.it;

 indicando:

• Nome del candidato
• Titolo del lavoro e co-autori eventuali
• Sessione a cui lo si è sottomesso

Art. 6 Tutti i candidati dovranno altresì inviare a grossi@ogs.it, costa@units.it, gferrante@ogs.it entro la data del 15 gennaio 2024:

• 5 slides (oltre a quella del titolo) che illustrino in maniera chiara la ricerca fatta, corredate da brevi note esplicative per ciascuna slide, così da agevolarne la comprensione. (Attenzione a non superare i 10 Mb per mail);
  • Una dichiarazione nella quale si specifichi la o le parti che costituiscono il proprio contributo originale al lavoro nel suo complesso, anche per quanto riguarda la redazione del testo e presentazione, nel caso questi siano a più nomi;

La commissione giudicherà il materiale proposto ma il giudizio finale avverrà dopo che i candidati avranno presentato oralmente il lavoro nel Workshop dei giovani ricercatori AGLC, che, per via telematica precede il Convegno. Nel processo di valutazione dei lavori presentati si terrà conto anche del numero di autori del lavoro, privilegiando quelli con un numero contenuto. La presentazione in questo caso è sempre orale (anche nel caso per il convegno sia stato passato successivamente a poster) e segue le modalità del convegno stesso. Nel corso del Convegno GNGTS 2024, durante l’assemblea dei ricercatori (mercoledì 14 febbraio 2024), verrà effettuata la premiazione dei tre vincitori.

The Licio Cernobori Association for Geophysics – AGLC was founded on 30 October 2000 to remember Licio Cernobori, a geophysicist who died prematurely, who ranged from seismology to seismic studies, always keeping his enthusiasm for research intact, and infecting his younger colleagues of him. This year too the prize has been announced, in the same way as in recent years: three prizes of 700 Euros each will be awarded, one for each of the three Themes of the GNGTS, in which young researchers aged no more than 35 years who present as first authors and speakers of a scientific work at the GNGTS 2024 Conference.

Those who want to participate in the prize must (as described in the call):

• by the deadline for submitting summaries/abstracts to the GNGTS:
• submit the summary/abstract on the site according to the methods described on the GNGTS site;
• send an email to grossi@ogs.it, costa@units.it, gferrante@ogs.it;
• indicating:
• Name of the candidate
• Title of the work and possible co-authors
• Session to which it was submitted
• By January 15, 2024: send to grossi@ogs.it, costa@units.it, gferrante@ogs.it;
• 5 slides (in addition to the title one) that clearly illustrate the research done, accompanied by short explanatory notes for each slide, so as to facilitate understanding. (Be careful not to exceed 10 Mb per email);
• A declaration in which you specify the part or parts that constitute your original contribution to the work as a whole, also with regard to the drafting of the text and presentation, if these are shared by multiple names;
• A self-certification regarding not having exceeded the age of 35 at the time of registration for the prize (as per the announcement);
• Photocopy of identity card or similar document.

The commission will judge the proposed material but the final judgment will take place after the candidates will have presented their work orally in the AGLC young researchers’ workshop,

which precedes the conference (online). The presentation in this case is always oral (even if at the conference it was subsequently passed to poster) and follows the methods of the conference itself.

The three themes are the same as those foreseen for the GNGTS (Seismicity, volcanoes, data and models; Disaster risk analysis and reduction, Applied geophysics for energy, environment and new technologies), and the sessions will be chaired by some of those who have received one of the AGLC awards. All candidates are also invited to include the association logo and the indication that they are participating in the prize in their presentation.

During the GNGTS 2024 Conference, during the researchers’ assembly (Wednesday 14 February 2024), the three winners will be awarded.

Since 2015 the Italian EAGE-SEG Section has also contributed a third of the prizes and from 2021 the UGI – Italian Geophysical Union has also contributed a third.

AGLC ‘Licio Cernobori’ Award: rules

• be the first author of the scientific work presented and present it;
• the topic must be inherent to the themes of the Conference;
• the abstract must be in the format required by the Conference.

Art. 4 Three prizes of 700.00 Euros each will be awarded, one for each of the conference themes:

• Seismicity, volcanoes, data and models;
• Disaster risk analysis and reduction;
• Applied geophysics for energy, environment and new technologies.
